Meet Pico de Gallo, a tiny 5 lb bundle of personality! This little guy may be small, but he’s got a big heart and even bigger charm. Pico loves being close to his humans, whether it's snuggling on the couch or following you around the house. He’s a social butterfly and enjoys meeting new people, though he can be a bit reserved at first. Once he warms up, Pico will be your loyal companion, always ready for affection and lap time.  He does show the classic chi-attitude and will bark like a nut job but then if you have a little treat, he will decide you are just fine!

Pico was very scared in the shelter and the staff could not touch him for over 2 weeks.  He truly was just shut down but it is important that the new owner understand that he will need time to adjust.  Once he does, he has a playful side and enjoys chasing toys or engaging in short bursts of zoomies. He’s crate trained and gets along well with dogs of all sizes, making him a great addition to a multi-dog household. While Pico hasn’t been tested with cats, he’s shown a friendly demeanor towards everyone he meets.

Pico is working on house training and is making great progress, but will need a routine and some patience in his new home. We are currently using belly bands if we are gone for extended hours.  If you’re looking for a loving, petite pup who is ready to find his forever home, Pico de Gallo is your guy!

Typical chi behavior in that he is here to protect the world again his foster family so he will not be able to share walls...he likes to bark and pretend he is big man on the block.
