My mom told me a story once about her sister’s dog, who was a boxer mix like Ginger. She said when she died, her dad (my grandpa) sat on the front stoop and cried and cried, it’s like losing a member of our family he said, that dog had so much personality. Well friends, that describes Ginger in a nutshell. Ginger has so much personality. She is high energy, loves to run, and play, and fetch, and chase the squirrels from window to window. She is the smartest dog her foster mom has ever known, figuring out how to open doors at lightning speed (however, her foster family has been training her not to do this) and able to scope out a situation immediately. She is house trained and crate trained (although she isn’t a huge fan of the crate) and is a love monster. She is great with little kids and loves to play and snuggle with them.  Ginger is working on learning to like kitties (instead of treating them like nonstop play things; the kitties are not helping in this regard, playing a never-ending game of chase with Ginger).   She is very playful with other dogs and would love a playful canine companion in her furever home.   Ginger would do best in a family with kids (and maybe a big yard to run around in) or a family that has some time to dedicate to getting Ginger the running around and mental simulation she craves. Ginger is a love, truly, a very sweet pup who would make a great family dog.
