Hello, my name is Miles.  My Foster Mom named me Miles because it seems I traveled a few before finding her.

Sometimes life works in interesting ways.  I found her walking and knew she would help take care of me.  It seems I had been lost for some time and was about 15 pounds underweight and was in need of love.  She brought me to her home, which is now my temporary home.  I had to spend a few weeks at the “Animal Hospital,” apparently to play by the rules.  I wasn’t to use to rules, but I have picked up quickly.  I think someone must have loved me and worked with me at some point because I come when called, sit, shake and know what “down” means.   I only use the great outdoors to take care of business.  I have a Foster Dad and Sister, as well as a dog sister that I love.  My Foster family takes me for long walks - I love that.  I don’t play with toys - that is kids stuff.   I like treats, hugs and praise makes me melt!  I don’t share my food and I eat it really fast, I think it is because I was hungry for so long and am scared someone will take it away!   I like when they pet me when I eat, but I am definitely not sharing.  Maybe someday I will, once I can trust where my next meal is coming from for sure! 

I don’t know how old I am, I never really kept track.  The vet says somewhere between 7 and 9.  I am healthy as far as I know.  I have good energy, but my Foster Mom says, “Just the right amount!”  I like to be close to my humans.  I like to lay by their feet.  I usually just fall asleep there - it feels so safe and warm.  I weigh about 42 pounds, but will top out around 50, once I get fully nourished.  I am neutered (11/18/2016).  I sleep in a crate, but apparently that is not necessary it's just that I'm the new-by and have to earn the overnight trust!

Enough about me, how about you?  Would you like a pal?  That is what I am.  I am company and not high need or high energy.  I get excited to walk and can walk for days - apparently I already have!  I am so darn sweet and managed to maintain that despite hard times.  My Foster Family will cry when I leave, but they were not looking for me - I found them when I needed some help.
