Hi, my name is Maggie!

I am a one-year old female Beagle/Corgi/Terrier mix.  I weigh about 22 lbs.  I was found as a stray in Hope, Arkansas and ended up in a shelter.  It was a good day when I found out that I was chosen to come to Minnesota to find my forever home.  Everyone at the shelter says that Minnesota is where all the dogs here want to come.

I like everyone I have met, even kids.  I play with neighbor dogs and I get along well with them.  I have not met any cats yet, so I would have to be tested with cats if you need to know if I like them or not.

I have a lot of energy and like to play, so I think I would really like having a yard to run around in.  I love to take walks and am great on a leash.  My favorite thing is to get belly rubs.  I am ready for that day or night!

I don’t like to stay in a crate at all.  I don’t bark, but I am ashamed to admit that I show my dislike in other bad ways – I go potty in there!  I have been working really hard on being housebroken, though, and I almost have it down.  If you leave me out of the crate when you are gone, I try really hard not to make a mess.  I will keep working on it, though, to get even better before I find my forever home.

Since I don’t do well in a crate, my foster mom lets me sleep in bed with her.  I have not had any potty accidents at night.  I sleep quietly all night.  Sometimes I don’t even wake up when the alarm goes off.

It was hard being alone on the streets with no one to teach me how to behave in a house.  I am really trying, though, to learn everything that I need to know about it.  I think I would love to have a family that would continue to have patience with me while I learn all about living in a house.  I think I would be worth the effort!

If you think you would be the perfect family for me, fill out an application and my foster mom will arrange to have you meet you.
