Hello!  Meet Nina.  She is loves other dogs and follows her foster siblings around like a shadow.  She is still very shy around people, but slowly she is warming up and starting to come out of her shell.  She is very sweet and you can tell she wants to trust and love someone, it will just take time.  She needs some coaxing.  For example, she will back away when you try to pick her up, but one you do, she will snuggle into your neck and let you hold her for hours!  She also comes to the top of the stairs to greet people when they come over, but gets shy and backs away quickly if anyone reaches out to pet her.

She only barks when she is playing and occasionally in the a.m. if she wants to get out of her kennel to go outside. She does her business right away when she goes outside and she also knows to use the wee wee pads if we don’t pick up on her subtle ques letting us know she needs to go out.  We are working on walking on a leash, but because she is still so shy she tends to back away (until we offer treats ) to come.

She is very smart and catches on quickly – she knows “sit”, “down”, “leave it” and we are working on “wait” and “come."  She loves rawhides, balls and playing tug-o- war also loves a good belly rub.  She’s a very mellow for a puppy – she likes to play, but is not obsessive about it and settles for a nap easily - preferably in your lap or on the bed, but she also naps well in her kennel without a fuss.

She is going to need a home with a family that will continue to work with her and show her lots of love and patience. She would probably do best in a home with another dog. She will make a great companion once she opens up and gets over her shyness and builds trust.  Will you be the patient loving home this sweet girl is looking for?
