Hello! I would like to introduce you to Cinder. She is a great girl once she settles into a home and a routine. Cinder is potty trained and has not had any accidents in the house. She will wait by the door, but does this even when she may not have to go. We keep her on a schedule which helps. She is also crate trained; however she does not enjoy being crate trained and will only go in if bribed with treats. We are working on making her kennel a positive place, but she does bark if left for extended periods of time. This seems to be getting better as she gets used to the routine and knows we will be back to let her out. Cinder is a puppy and needs to work on her manners. She will jump up on people if they have treats or dog food, but other than that she mostly just barks for a short time at new people and she does not bark much overall, even when people come to the door. Her past rescuer said she jumped on counters, but we have not experienced this. She has not shown any chewing behaviors, but will rip up a bed or blanket in her kennel. Outside of her kennel she does not chew things she shouldn't. We make sure to give her plenty of chew toys! She is very intelligent and has learned to sit, wait around open doors, and stay. Cinder is very treat motivated, so training is easy. We are working on down and waiting for our food. She warms up quickly to new people. Once she has warmed up and starts to trust you she turns into a lap dog. She does well with other dogs and will play with them or ignore them; she is fairly submissive. She LOVES to have attention and will seek it out at times by coming up and getting you to pet her. She is active, as she is a puppy, but she settles down well on a dog bed on the floor or on your lap if you'll let her! She sleeps on a bed and some blankets on the side of our bed and will stay there through the night only getting up once to wake you to use the bathroom. She loves to play fetch and frisbee. Her and our dog enjoy wrestling and playing tug of war. Overall Cinder is a great, sweet, and gentle dog who just needs someone to continue to work on her puppy antics.
