Hi there.  My name is Timber.  I am one year old and still very much a puppy in spirit.  I love to run outside.  I’m adventurous, curious and need to investigate everything.  Winter is a favorite season for me.  Piles of snow call my name and I plunge right in nose first.  I wiggle and giggle my way back to the top and start all over again.  If I’m lucky enough, I snarf up a piece of ice to chew, my favorite!  I can entertain myself but I also love to play with other dogs.   I enjoy fetching up a ball but not likely to bring it back.  It’s mine now.  New commands?  Bring them on.  I puff right up with pride when I learn new things and you tell me, “Good boy!”  I already have the basics down (including potty outside) but best to review now and again in a less busy place.
My handlers think that I’m quite affectionate.  I give great hugs and kisses and will snuggle with all my heart.  New people to meet?  I’m all in!  My excitement is difficult to contain when I’m out and about.  But we are all working on helping me keep my paws on the ground.
Of course, I prefer not to be left alone (who doesn’t?) but if I’m told to ‘go home’, I get right into my crate and settle down for the night.  I can also sleep on the bed on the floor and be as content and quiet.  Of course, if you want to share your bed with me, I’m OK with that too!

Timber is participating in our Rush to Rescue program, and he is currently being fostered by a pair of offenders at the Rush City Correctional Facility. While there, Timber will be attending a training program with a certified trainer and will be working on his commands with his handlers. Please contact us to find out more about Timber. Meet and greets can be arranged with a Wags & Whiskers volunteer in the prison lobby, adoption event, or other locations for an approved applicant.
