Ruby is an adorable seven-year-old Chihuahua mix who weighs about 15 lbs.  She currently lives in harmony with three other dogs and several cats in her foster home.   She loves playing with squeak toys, rope toys, and going for walks.  She is also a sun worshiper!  She loves, loves, loves to sit out in the yard and soak up the sun.  Ruby also loves belly rubs more than any dog has ever loved a belly rub. In general, she just loves to be pet and bobs her head in contentment when your hand is applied to her!

Ruby has an old injury that, while it doesn’t affect her ability to walk, it does hamper her ability to walk UP the stairs.   But that doesn’t stop her from walking down the stairs.  A bonus here is that if you are looking for a dog who won’t climb on the furniture, Ruby is your girl!  She is a ground level dog and she’s okay with that as long as you have comfy beds for her to plop down in.

Ruby takes great joy out of sniffing the neighborhood on her walks.  She is friendly with strangers but has barked at larger dogs that get in her face.

Ruby sleeps in a doggie bed surrounded by an exercise pen during the workday and at night.  She goes into her pen with very little prompting. She does not bark much (doesn’t care about the mailman!) and has no bad behaviors.  She’s just hoping to chill in a home with lots of toys and attention, and maybe a nice sunny yard.
